They are well fed and watered and are both females in a nice big cage, and they go outside when the weather is nice, but during the winter they drive me NUTS. I've tried covering them with a blanket to no avail.

I dont wish to punish them, not at all!
I'm just curious if they are trying to tell me they need something...

If you dont want a noisy bird then bird's are not the animal for you. It's in their nature to be noisy. To make them be quiet would be like telling you not to laugh... you don't want sad birds do you?

Give them a bath! Seriously. How often do they Bath? Did you Place a Blanket over them when they where noisy in the beginning and after they settled down remove it? Or just left it there. Because if you did you leave it there you did absolutely nothing to change the behavior. But have a water bottle on hand or fill with warm water spray. when they start loud noise squirt them. it won't cause harm!!. but only do when UNNECESSARILY NOISY. You blew the blanket chance. When you actually bath them use a fine spray mist with pet dander in it. with the vacuum on or put a water bowl in just for bathing with vacuum on. But use bottle Spray stream for

my parakeet often cheaps and screaches when i leave the room or when the tv is on or when i have music on or when im talking to him . but some times he just talks to him self for fun lol ive tried to keep him quit to i think there is no way

I dont think that you should punish them at all. They are just talking to eachother. I understand it might be nosiy, but birds talk.

from what i've heard...you're out of luck


birds chirp and whatnot....
there's really no way to punish them (like dogs) so they learn to shutup....

...i hope for your sake there's a way, but i don't know of it...sorry
