hey guys,
My friend just lost one of her dogs (they have 3) only about 6 months ago. Now this other dog, (the one she's the most attatched to) has just been diagnosed with cancer. The vet recommended putting him down since he's too old to even survive surgery.Anyway my friend has had a really rough year and these are 2 blows that she just can't deal with. As a fellow dog owner, I share her pain. Anyway guys, my question is, besides being there for her, is there something I can buy for the dog, I mean does anyone know of a website or store that will specialize in creating a very nice memory book of the dog. Any suggestions would really help. Thanks.

I wish there was some great answer for you. You already seem to have all the right ideas. Be a friend and understand! Making a memory book is a great idea. Maybe if she helps you with it, that could be theraputic for her! Send her a sympathy card, and let others know who care about her too so that they can send them also.
There's really no way to make it easy.
Good luck.

I really don't know, try to improvise (buy a photo album and fill it with pictures that will remind her of the good moments with the dog). Also, do tell her that if the dog is old, it means he's had a full and obviously happy life with her. This is the perfect end for anyone's life, I wish all our animals, family and ourselves managed to die in old age and in good company and loved. So really she shouldn't be sad for her dog, of course she'll miss him, but the end of someone's life determines how happy his life has been, and this dog has had a happy life.
Also, it would be great to rescue another dog in the name of the dogs she lost.

yea its going to be hard. my cat is 18 years old and when she goes i will be a wreck! it hurts my heart just to think about it. the only thing that you could do as a friend is be there for her and maybe take her to d stuff that will keep her mind off of the fact. these kind of things only heal with time.

Why not have an engraved plaque and fix it to a favourite tree? I did one for one of my dogs. Everyone refers to the tree as Milly's Tree now so she will always be remembered.

This kit is beautiful! There are tons of things like this, but this is the nicest one I've seen in a while.
I feel so much for your friend. That has got to be hard to go through.

Yes! The Rainbow Bridge Poem. You can buy it at this site.

It is a sweet poem and they personalize it with the name of your friend's pets. It's very sweet of you to want to do something to help your friend.

This is about your answer to my question (about him leaving me), honestly, that's the whole story. We argued about the car, he left. Point blank. Wish there was more I could share, but that's it.
