zam Zam water is natural water from the ground, when Prophet
Ibrahim left His Wife Bibi Hajra near this place we call meca Allah had promised to look after them,so when the Baby Ismail got hungry and there was no food or water bibi Hajra ran from one end of a mountain called Saffa to Marwa, she did the 7 times and when on reterning back the 7th time the Baby Ismail was crying and kicking the ground there was this floe of water and when she saw the water ,she was happy and then said the word zamzam which means enough enough, this is also present in the Holy Quran in the hajj part as we all as muslims have to do this as part of hajj.
As ofr it being Germ free yes it is Germ free coz Allah has given it to us but in this very tines the Saudi goverment is surely doing some treatment to the water before giving it to the pilgrims.
