You should consider all factors if travelling by train cos they always give bad excuses when a trains delayed!! The cost is always important except if you're mega rich. How long its going to take especially if you have children travelling with you cos they get really bored i know from experience also if travelling by train make sure the trains connect so you dont have to wait around for ages on a freezing platform.

Have you got enough things for the time away. If it's by car is the car fit for purpose. Do you need passports. If not by car have you booked tickets. Have you locked the door
