Like, the gay marriage thing is not even an issue because the only thing they're using to support their opinion is the bible and the bible is "Church." IF they're not going to follow this thing they should get rid of it because otherwise they attempt to ban gay marriage doesn't make sense. Gay marriage is not an issue due to the fact that there's separation of CH.. and St...they need to be able to get married..Not that I'm for gay marriage but this is waht makes sense.

Nope. We still have the separation of ch. and sta. thing. You fact that you might want to sound smart is a different story. I can still argue the gay marriage thing. The bible states that we may possess slaves. We have gotten rid of that so now it's marriage. Marriage is for anyone not only straight people.

Do you want us to be a country like Iraq where all their laws are from their god book? Well, I know I wouldn't want to have that type of life. would you?

The belief that religious and state institutions should be separate covers a wide spectrum, ranging between one extreme which would secularize or eliminate the church, and theocracy, in which the government is an affiliate of the church. Some secularists believe that the state should be kept entirely separate from religion, and that the institutions of religion should be entirely free from governmental interference. Churches that exercise their authority completely apart from government endorsement, whose foundations are not in the state, are conventionally called "Free" churches.

Actually, the political argument of gay marriage (that one that is standing up) is that allowing gay marriage changes the term of marriage. That is a 'major' change for the world and needs to take plenty of time. Its a bunch of bull, but basically it means humans would be in shock if it happend tomorow.

Laws of marriage is between a man and a woman
not a marriage of two men
not a marriage of two women
not a marriage of a man and his dog
not a marriage of a woman and her dog
not a marriage of a man and a monkey
not a marriage of a woman and a monkey
not a marriage of three people 1 man and 2 women
not a marriage of four people 1 man and 3 women
etc.
etc.
etc.

The only two capable of reproducing with the knowledge of known parents is the marriage between a man and a woman.
Our courts are full of homosexual and heterosexual crime cases today. I'm tired of being on jury cases of pure b -- s---.

The Supreme Court has already upheld the Constitution and told the States to stay out of the churches just like the Constitution originally intended. How can you keep religion out of government? I don't leave God behind whenever I go into a courtroom or any other government building. I can't separate myself from my faith. My faith is taking God, the Lord Jesus Christ, at His Word and upholding the Word of God foremost and before country. My Lord Jesus Christ is FIRST and family second and country third.

What sense does it make to let gay people marry? What you permit increases and you could end up with an unproductive country with few citizens. Our forefathers were exceedingly more intelligent than we have become. We are becoming a nation that tolerates everything and that is a dangerous, stagnant,
wicked nation.

First of all, you need to understand the original intent of the "separation of church and state". It is the opposite of what people have come to believe. It was originally used in a letter from Jefferson to a church in CT explaining that the church had nothing to fear from the government. It is government's role, not the church's that is limited by the Constitution. But let's look at marriage from a cultural view, rather than religious.

Every culture in history has always defined marriage as a man and a woman. Certainly there are cultures that practice polygamy, but still the elements are a man and a woman. Never has marriage been defined as two men, or two women. Advocates to homosexual "marriage" are trying to change the very definition of marriage.

Most people don't really care what homosexuals do. We don't want to see it and we don't want to hear about it. But we are not about to honor their relationship an put it on the same level as a marriage. What is so hard to understand about that?

What do you think the effect on children is? It is no secret that children do better in a conventional two parent (that's one man, and one woman) family. Do you think that two women, or two men can equal a man and a woman as parents? I certainly don't.

Men and women have different roles to play. Women make lousy men, and men make pathetic women. Thousands of years of human history have shown this.

The advocates don't care what effect this will have on children. They only care about what THEY want.

There is no such thing as seperation of Church and state in any government document ...get over it.

" It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible". - George Washington

" The Bible is the cornerstone of libery". -- Thomas Jefferson"

"That Book (the Bible), sir, is the Rock on which our Republic rests". - Andrew Jackson

"It is God who gave us life and liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed the conviction that these liberties are a gift from God?" - Thomas Jefferson

"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God and to obey His will". -- George Washington

" We stake the whole future history of this nation upon the ablility of its people to govern & control themselves according to the 10 Commandments". -- James Madison ...Chief Archetect of the US Constistution and 2nd Pres. of US.

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists, but by Christians, not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ." - Patrick Henry

So why should we believe clueless atheists that are trying to convince us otherwise? I choose to believe our Founding Fathers and reject the atheists who are trying to re-write history to suit their own selfish agenda.

I can see that you have no idea what separation of church and State means. How would you like to have to pay taxes to the church? Doesn't matter if you go or not they would still get their share of your income.. That's what the separation is. So be glad you have that and work within the system to get the state to do what you want it to do.. That is a republican form of government.... Nice try though.. Jim

Sure. America can become a theocracy just like Iran. Of course with the large number of sects and denomination, the situation will degenerate like in Iraq with a fight for domination but if that is what people want... After all, democracy is not in the Bible....

There is no such thing as separation of church and state in the Constitution. That case was argued before the supreme court using a letter from Thomas Jefferson to a friend of his.
The first amendment says government is to stay out of religion, ie, the Church of England. Nowhere does it say religion is to stay out of government

Kye is correct!
Jefferson was writing a letter to a black Baptist minister who was in fear of the Government getting into HIS church! Not the other way around.
Our country didn't want a Gov. sponsored/had to pay taxes to state church like they did in England. They wanted us to be free to worship God as we pleased. BUT make no mistake this country was founded on Christianity. Adams wrote if this country falls away from God we will fall. This is what is happening right now, we are becoming like Sodom and Gomorrah as we speak and we need to fear. Fear God may turn his back on a nation that doesn't want him, he may leave us. We need to pray for our nation.
Christians? pray for our nation.
