Sometimes we find that a person we think is good for us isn't therefore we have to leave them. What is the most practical way to detach yourself from one you care for without hurting that individual? Have you experienced this before?

leave them, don't talk to them anymore, get rid of all of their stuff, no reminders of them left sitting around to make u think of them, leave town, change your pH number, don't hang out in the same circles. the other person is always going to be hurt, if they loved u, no way out of that one. but when u leave a relationship never lay the blame on the other person for the breakup.

Make it a game to see how long you can go without talking to that individual. I'm currently on 8 years without talking to my ex. I think I won the game.

Do not call or accept calls or go to their house, or allow them to come to your house, avoidance is the best policy!

Just kindly explain to them that it's over. No matter what you say, it will hurt. There is no painless breakup.
