I travel a long flight from Germany to the US (10 hours) and back each year. When I take the flight I always bring comfy clothes to change in to for the flight (I have to look presentable before and after the flight - my husband is a pilot) and I take off my shoes. I only put my shoes on when I need to use the toilet (those things are dirty!). I also bring my own neck pillow and blankie so that I am comfortable for the flight! I do the same for my kids.

I never been on a long distance flight before, and even if I did, I may or may not take off my shoes. All depends if I have socks on or not.

Not only do I kick off my shoes - but I drink cheap beer the night before and eat a couple of breakfast burritos first thing in the morning.

By the time the flight lands - I have a whole row to myself...............

Before i take a long flight ( mostly when its 12hrs & above flights),I always make sure that i wear comfy, easy to take off shoes so that in the flight, i can take em off & do some foot exercise to improve blood circulations.( with socks of coz ).Never barefeet.Plus i dun "kick em off" i take em off n place em under the seat lol..

i've read a book written by a flight stewardess. on that book she begged the readers that if they are on long distance flights they should not take off their shoes because its really going to smell. and she also said not to forget your toothbrush.. haha!

I don't, both because it's not hygenic and because feet tend to swell in flight which makes putting the shoes back on difficult.
