First off, there is NO SUCH THING as a "best" province in Canada. We are Canada. The country is everything and the province is NOTHING. Got it??

OK, so Alberta has no debt a booming oil economy and nice scenery. Good on you.

But you also have BORING cities (Edmonton IS slightly better than Calgary, however), people who act like Texan wannabes (the rest of Canada thinks you look like jackasses in your pickup trucks and Stetsons, by the way), and this silly idea that you should have more of a say in national matters than what you do.

The fact is that Alberta was carved out of Canada in 1905. *Your* oil belongs to CANADA. Speaking of oil, Alberta has put all its eggs in a baskat labelled "oil." Once the bottom falls out in the oil market -- and don't think it won't -- we'll see how wonderful a place Alberta is.

YIKES.... someone had bitter flakes for breakfast this morning.

Everyone has pride in where they live, from their country or their province all the way down to their neighborhood. It's not a bad thing generally.

What is bad however is your negative view of Alberta. Like you said, we are all a part of the greater whole; Canada, so you should learn to love all that Alberta has to offer, and hope that it's prosperity helps out the rest of the country.

Oh and by the way, Calgary is a great place to live. The people here and great, and we are NOT a bunch of Texan wannabes! Honestly I think the last time that I saw a person in a "pickup truck with a stetson on" was at the Stampede! You should try and open your mind a little bit and realize that everywhere has potential. Maybe Calgary and Edmonton weren't your still, but they work for some people. So step of your high horse, and next time... try and wake up on the OTHER side of your bed!

Alberta is a beautiful province but not anymore beautiful than the others. Alberta has a booming economy and maybe that's what creates Alberta pride. There is nothing wrong with having pride. However I think that all people in Canada not just Alberta need to look more closely at history and the social issues, in each of their perspective provinces and perhaps their pride wouldn't be so strong.

What is wrong with having pride? Everyone has pride in where they live. I'm sure if someone insulted where you lived you would defend it. So don't say things like that okay?
