were green spruce trees priced at $10 each. How many of each kind of spruce did the Gomez's buy? (Hint: There is more than one solution, but only one of the possible choices is correct.)

"Some" were blue spruce, that means more than one. So their possible choices were- 2 blue- 6 green, 3 blue- 4green, or 4 blue- 2 green. Again assuming that "the rest were green spruce trees" means more than one green.
Given these parameters the answer would be 2 blue spruce and 6 green spruce if the wanted as many trees as possible. Or if they wanted the most blue spruce and not interested the number of trees they would have bought 4 blue spruce and 2 green. If they wanted more of a balance of blue to green they would have bought 3 blue spruce and 4 green.

You need to know the total number of trees bought. The equation for it is:
20x + 10y = 100
x + y = total number of trees.
where x = blue spruce
and y = green spruce

to solve this system though we need more information...did you copy down all of the problem?
