What kind of jack or tool would you use to raise your car properly (specifically jeep yj) to do a suspension lift. Think I want to do one someday and I am just curious.

I have had my YJ up in the air more than you can imagine! I use a 3.5 ton floor jack and 6 ton jackstands.........I had to use the 6 ton because they supported a greater height. The jackstands are essential while lifting. During the lift kit install you are going to need the jackstands to support the axles. The floor jack will come in really handy because it has wheels----you will need to correctly position your axle during the spring installation. Ideally, you will either need 2 floor jacks OR 4 jack stands and obviously 1 floor jack.

Be careful, be safe, and JEEP ON, Brother!

If you are planning to have the flat on a paved road, the stock jack will do.

On the other hand if you will blow a tire seal in a trench at 25 degrees inclination, with muddy terrain in the middle of the night 40 miles away from civilization, please buy yourself a Hi-Lift.

you have to get a HI-LIFT jack this is really your only option as far as a jack for lifted vehicles. you can get these at 4wd.com, quadratec.com, 4wheelparts.com and pretty much any place that sells 4 wheel drive vehicle stuff. theyll run you no more than a hundred bucks and these things are tuff theyll pretty much take a beating and keep on ticking.

Depends on the year of your jeep. If its newer and has the plastic bumpers you'll have to use a hydraulic bottle jack, if its older or has modified bumpers use a handyman jack (which is also a great manual winch if needed.).

a hydraulic floor lift would work well , but NEVER use the jack only when working on the vehicle , that is what jack stands are for.
