Do we? If so, would you kindly recommend a scientific experiment capable of demonstrating a rejection of the null hypothesis, "We have no more senses than the classical five"?
You figure out the experiment, and I'll get a friend at the Psych department I got my psychology degree from to run the experiment.

Gastounet:
Took both Cognitive Psychology and Sensation & Perception as part of my psych degree. The gentleman who mentions balance makes a valid point, balance could be considered a sense (there is an organ that uses laws of physics to provide information about the body's relationship to the external world, in the case of balance, these are the semicircular canals), but that sense is somewhat trivial.
Granting that balance could be considered a sense, I count six. Care to point out or mention others?

For a very similar reason why people believe they are their bodies or minds.

People, much like sheep, will believe what they are told by so called experts. I know I have more than 5 senses, some are just used less than others. Much less.

Specifically ..... 5 physical senses. If you want to expand into the mind, or psycological areas or beyond .... you could probably think of many more/
