They can't do that. Unless it's government related (student loans, back taxes, child support, etc...) the govt can't take your money for a credit card. Thats Discovers problem.

In some states they can seize your state tax return. How much is the judgment? Send me an email. Recently I have seen Discover Card judgments settled for 50 cents on the dollar.

As it is not a federally related loan, they can not take your return. It sounds like you're debt has been turned over to a private collection agency looking to intimidate you. If they were actually going to do it, they would have seized your return without telling you.

They can not seize your tax return before it is deposited into your bank. They can however seize it after it's deposited. You should have had it mailed to you since you knew that there was a judgment against you.

They are most likely going to take the return before it ever gets to the bank just in case you try to take the money before they can get to it. I suggest getting an attorney and making a deal with the credit card company before they take much else. They will take whatever they can to get the balance paid.

i believe they can only take child support, government or federal loans..i have never heard of them taking taxes for a old credit card.
