A lion will win.
Unless the tiger gets lucky and bites the lion's stomache.
Actually, it depends.
If the lions a male, he will win, 'cause he has a mane.(The mane will protect his neck, and most of his stomache, unless the tiger gives a big enough bite/scratch)
If the lion is a female, then she'll lose.
Unless the lioness gets lucky and could run fast enough, most likely can, 'cause she's much smaller, and isn't as weighed down as the tiger/tigress.
So nobody's really sure.
NO, lions aren't lazy bastards, they are worse hunters 'cause they're larger, and have to defend the territory, but sometimes they might go out and help.
Also depends on what kind of tiger you mean, Siberian, (Amur) etc.

My guess is the lion would win. Even though the tiger is bigger and stronger, Tigers are more opportunistic and typically eat stuff like little deer. Lions chase down and manhandle prey that is often much bigger than they are. Just my impression, but lions seem a lot tougher than tigers, and that goes a long way in a grudge match like this one. :-)

I'm going with the Tiger.. generally, they tend to be bigger than lions, and they are solitary hunters, so they are used to going at creatures one on one. Lions are pack hunters. The females do the killing. Male lions do challenge each other at times, but my bet is that the tiger will come out the winner in this match.
Do you have a spiritual lesson in this or did you just choose the wrong category?
