Sorry, didn't mean to make that distinction. Of course catholics and protestants are christians.

I have been through it myself. It is called spiritual dryness. Sometimes the well goes dry. My advice is loosen up a bit on prayer but do more of social work and other non-worship activities. But don't stop praying and going to church.

Grace and peace to you!

Yes, even Jesus has felt this way. Because he has felt everything we could ever feel, He knows what it's like and He is here to help you, beyond what anyone every could do. Sometimes tragedy or sin in our lives brings us more and more apart from God. We read His word less and avoid fellowship. I'm not saying that's the case with you. I am saying, that in the worst of times we need to get even more into prayer and reading the word because that's how we get our answers. And by talking and praying with other christians. God knows exactly what you need and that you are not feeling right. Tell Him, ask HIm to help you and reveal Himself to you because you feel empty hearted and disconnected from Him. The answers aren't always what we want to hear, but they are always the best for us. God promised us a safe landing, not a smooth journey. With that, I will pray for you right now. God bless you.

I think we all can go through "dry" times when it feels as if we do not have a connection with our Heavenly Father.
I have, and I have experienced that sort of melancholia.
What I have done is made the determination that this would not be a deterrent to my love for Him. Then I made a plan of action.
1st. Sing songs of praise to Him. Sing softly, loudly, at the top of your lungs. WHO HE IS
2nd Have an attitude of gratitude. That is list the things God has done for you and consider that your thank you list. WHAT HE HAS DONE
3rd Pick a few verses to memorize and study them, and memorize them. WHAT HE HAS PROMISED
4th Be a light to the world. God's desire is that we reach out and be a blessing to all the world so that they who do not know Him would know that He is a good God. WHAT HE DESIRES
God Bless you for your question.
You are on my prayer list!

Everyone experiences doubt in their life and it's quite normal. I have myself and it's a horrible feeling. I wouldn't wish it on anyone but I think the best thing to do is sit down and try to focus on the blessings God has bestowed on you. It will remind you that God loves you and will always be right there beside no matter how far from Him you may seem. That's beauty of it. You may think He's far way but in truth He's right there. And pray to your heart's content or if that doesn't work try talking. It may feel a little silly but try to stick with it. I find that I feel more connected when I do that.

We all go through this every now and then. Even David writes about these kinds of feelings in the Psalms. Stay near to the Lord at this time, even if you can't feel his presence. If you feel there is something specific hindering your relationship with God, pray that he would reveal it to you. You could also try putting on some good praise music.

I have been out of fellowship with God and Jesus for 3 years now. I am not sure if you would call it spiritual burnout or not. I just know I stopped reading my bible and praying like I should and then I left church. I am like the prodigal son right now. My desire has left me and the joy of salvation as well. I am still saved just not where I know I should be.

Yes I've felt this way before. The enemy tries to deceive us with our feelings. You can't rely on feelings. Feelings will let you down. You have to trust God's Word. Believe what it says. You have to believe Jesus when He said I will never leave nor forsake you. You have to speak to yourself, encourage yourself with what God's Word says. The enemy wants you to feel down and out. When you get up in the morning you say, "This is the day the Lord has made. I WILL rejoice and be glad in it!" The enemy is gonna do nothing but tell you lies. That's when you speak God's Word back to enemy. Resist the enemy and he will flee from you. Let Him know that you are a child of God. See, we gotta talk back to the enemy. He doesn't have any dominion over us. We are children of God!! Remember to spend time with God DAILY!!

Think back to God has done for you in the past. This 'dry season' will past too. God brought you out then, He'll do it now!!

God bless you.

It seems that you are having a calling to do something, but you are at a fork in the road.

Pray ernestly about your purpose in life. Ask the Holy Spirit to pray on your behalf when you feel that you've run out of words. Practice fasting.

If you feel disconnected from your faith, be proactive. Do something that makes a difference in someone else's life. The blessing you receive in return will be in the form of understanding, again, why you are here and feeling His gift of joy. God bless.

Just go with it. Try to have an optimistic view. Take your time and think things though. Don't answer your own questions if you don't have the information to do so.. Its OK to be agnostic. You might even find you like it.
