Fresh squid should not smell.

I love squid. I usually get a marinade made with suagr, chopped chillies, garlic, lemon, juice and olive oil ... soak the squid in it for an hour or two before slapping them on the grill. Yummy...

Don't you eat calamari? Squid is delicious. It doesn't smell. Maybe, she got a bad one.
It's good in so many seafood dishes. A lot of Italian dishes have squid.

Squid can be wonderful, but if it smells it's bad and should be thrown away. Seafood should smell fresh and clean, like the sea. If it smells of ammonia or "off" at all, pitch it.

No I dont eat squid. Squid literally swims in its own ****. It projects a string of **** than the **** gets attached to it. And than overzealous japanese people with the bug eyes and the hibble and the squibblety goop eat the squid. SO NO I DONT EAT THE SQUID

Calamari is quite popular where I come from and should not have a bad smell.
slice it into rings and dip in flour, then egg, then flour again and deep fry quickly, so it doesn't get rubbery.
Serve hot with tartar sauce and lemon. YUM!!!

Oh yes! I had my husband try it many years ago and he loves it more than I do. Cut it up into rings, bread it, deep fry, serve with marinara, and lemon wedges. You can sprinkle with parmesean, but that smells. Yum Yum! You have to try it!

If it's fresh, there shouldn't be a noticable odor. I like it when prepared correctly.
