I'm assuming you are painting the apple red ?!
Basecoat it first in a lime green colour (think about how apples mature - they start out green and turn red).
At this point you have to pick where your light source is coming from. Now start applying layers of a barn red colour (I'm not sure what brand of acrylic you are using so can't use the proper colour name), leaving the green showing through at your highlight spot. When you're pleased with the depth of colour apply layers of dark red/brown into shaded areas.

Highlight with yellow....then a small reflective spot of white.

Details - stem etc. with dark brown...

Hope that helps.....

First of all try to sketch it out, and then put it in bold with a pen or marker. Then after, you can paint it. Remember to put in a little detailed painting. You know if it's dark on one side and light on the other, or if there's a different color on top. I hope your painting turns out well!

First, take PVA glue, mix it in proportion with water. Don't make it too watery and then, put a coat of it on the apple. Then, take tissue paper or Kitchen role and put it on the glue. Put another coat of glue on it. Wait till it dries. Then, take your desired color paint and paint it. At first you will have white. On that, you can put any type of paint.

Use a good primer and a non-toxic paint. If you decide to eat the apple, you don't want to get sick from a poisonous paint. Good luck!
