Serious question. What drives you? Why must there be so many arguments? Do you not realize that hate and discontent are caused by Satan? God wants us to love each other, not hate.
Do you also not realize that as strong as your faith is, the other person's is just as strong? For the Christian saying that the Bible is real and true, the Muslim is also saying the Qur'an is true. It is a neverending battle. Christians: what ever happened to the belief that only 144,000 (I think) will enter the gates of Heaven?
I am a Christian, but I have to say something here. My hat's off to Muslims, because at least the Qur'an gives credit to the Bible. They may not believe the same way as us, but at least they are not trying to make us out to be total liars.

I am not overlooking anything. I have my faith, though you may question it. But I guess you can overlook "Love thy neighbor as thyself". And "Judge not, lest ye be judged".

Just to clarify something here, I was not trying to cause hate and discontent. I was accused of not believing as I should as a Christian, and I simply replied. I apologize if I was taken wrong. Also, I am not trying to say that I agree with Islam. I am simply saying that we need to quit criticizing others beliefs. They believe they are right just as much as we believe we are right. It is a never ending battle. I know, I am fighting a losing battle trying to reason, but that is what I am choosing to do.

oh, one more thing before I choose a best answer. As for the 144,000 thing, there are people other than Jehovah's Witnesses that believe that. My father is a Primitive Baptist Pastor, and he says they believe that also. And the Jehovah's witnesses believe that earth will become Eden for those who do not enter the Gates of Heaven.

It takes a spiritually aware person to ask this type of question, and I say kudos to you. When you admit that your religion does not necessarily make you a spiritually superior person than people of other religions, you are already operating in a higher consciousness. After all, there is no religion up, up there.
Most people do not have your level of awareness however, because we mostly have to learn our lessons in this spiritual school (physical world) we are living in by trial and error. Only very few get tutelage from spiritual guides. Many of us therefore have to make numerous attempts before we grasp the basics of the subject called DIVINE LOVE.
I am indeed happy to observe that you are not looking down on those who may still be at kindergarten level spiritually.

The Qur'an was written 1300 yrs after the bible. And why wouldn't the Quaran give credit to the bible, the Muslims are descendants of Abraham...only they are from his first son Ishmael and not from Isaac, so it would only make sense, also like i said the Bible had been around for a long time when the Quaran came about by Mohamed and since Islam and Christianity started in the same area than yes there would be credit to some bible teachings in the Quaran. However they only believed Jesus was a profit not the savior.
As for the 144000 people thing, i believe you are referring to the 12000 from the 12 tribes of Israel that will be saved. Well i don't know who believes that aside from Jehovah's witnesses but i am a catholic and we have been taught not to really take that statement literally. You must remember the world was a lot smaller then in terms of travels and population. They did not even really know or could comprehend how large of a number that was, so it actually represents an extremely large number, yet still excludes a decent number of people. Hopefully that is not the actual final tally though, because if it is we all may be in trouble.

Ok for one I will have to agree with you in not understand why there are so many arguments on here. And not all faiths are as strong as another. There are many people out there who are weak in their faith, who don't completely understand it, who have interpreted things wrong. And there are even some who don't have a faith at all. And you know the belief that only 144,000 will get into heaven isn't a christian belief. It is however a belive of the Jahova Witnesses (which completely confuses me...because if only 144,000 can get into heaven. Why in the world are they going door to door trying to get more people in their religion. Dosen't that dimish their chances?). But anyhow to be honest. I think you may have misunderstood some of the things in your own religion.
When God said, "Love one another," ~ did you think He meant for you to tolerate sin?
When God said, "Do not judge, or you too will be judged," ~ did you think He meant for you not to take a stand agianst unrighterus behavior?
You know in all things God is my driving force. He is always there when I need him and guides me in everything I do. And sometimes the only way to get your point across is to stand up and be strong about it. Not to always turn the other cheek.

We as Christians are called to be a light to the world. I agree that we should not argue or put others down but we must stand up for truth as well.
One point though, the 144,000 does not refer to how many Christians in the world but they are witnesses from the nation of Israel who will preach the gospel after the rapture of the church.

Actually you ARE overlooking something... Islam holds Jesus to be a revered prophet. Yet Jesus taught that He was the Son of God, and the Savior of all mankind. Islam does not believe Jesus's words...so the obvious question must be raised: Was that prophet of Islam a liar or just a madman?

Satan and God don't exist. Arguments don't equate with hate.
I know that it is uncomfortable for you, but there is no reason why religions shouldn't come under the same scrutiny as everything else. If you make claims, we can challenge those claims. That is what argument is for.
And we should be striving to reduce reliance on "faith". Faith is just wishful thinking. Argumentation allows us to reason out what is true and not true, instead of just going on what people tell us.
Don't be so intellectually and morally lazy.

Of course we should love our neighbor as ourselves but that does not include watering down our own faith to suit them,no Christian can possibly accept Islam because it denies that Jesus is God and Man ,that He died for the salvation of the world and rose again,Islam puts Mohammed in the place of Christ and for us this is heresy.

The 144,000 will be jewish preachers who will be saved during the tribulation. You can follow any religion you wish. You have the right to reject Jesus and go to hell if you like. The bible says also judge righteous judgement as well.

All scripture is of God, therefore, there is truth in all sources of Holy Scripture. Unfortunately, the many mistranslations and misinterpretations because of man's errors and the intricacies of language format bring into scripture conflicting reasoning.
Contention is of the devil and the God I worship disapproves of it.
