yes, but the jews in moses' time gave him quite of bit of sh*t as well, just not as much sh*t as the jews of jesus' time gave him. thats because moses brought the law, and jesus tried to change it.
edit: when are certain christians going to quit saying they are jews?! GRRR!
you are so right about the magic stuff! that's why i think the magician part isn't nearly as important as what each person is remembered as trying to accomplish.

Entirely different.
Jews did not believe claims of Moses just because they respected Moses, but rather because they saw a mass revelation at Mt. Sinai.
The entire Jewish nation witnessed the giving of the commandments at Mt. Sinai. This is the only such claim of a mass revelation in history.
The claims of Christianity, or Islam, are based on the experiences of one person. In these religions it's up to the believer whether to believe the claims of the person.

They "grew up" with Moses, so to speak. Even though Moses did miracles, they still turned from God. The Jews thought Messiah would set up the kingdom, and by war. Jesus didn't make war.

Because Moses came before Jesus did and the Jews were use to the laws of Moses and couldn't understand at that time that there was a need for change of which Jesus did not come to destroy the law as some thought but Jesus came to fufill it as he demostrated so many times while he was here on Earth.

Because Moses kept his promises and Jesus did not.
Moses let the Nation of Israel out of Egypt.
Jesus got himself killed by the Romans and accomplished nothing to help the Jews.

Well, when Jesus rose from the dead, the soldiers who guarded the tomb went to the High Priests and told them what happened. The High Priests paid the soldiers handsomely to spread lies , saying that Jesus's apostles came and stole his body while they were sleeping. This is why there is a division between Christians and Jews yet today.

Jews beleived in Moses, and then later on Jews beleived Jesus. Jews were the ones who started christianity. Christianity is based on Jewish traditions. As you know, not all Jews converted to christianity becuase they didnt beleive Jesus was the Messiah

Because accepted jewish tradition is to accept a prophet if his predictions are valid and if he does not disagree with moses, the first and greatest prophet.
Jesus failed to meet both of these criteria.
