I have 40 more pounds to loose. I count calories, do sit-ups, walk everyday from 3-7 miles a day. No change in weight in a month.

"Lose" not "loose." Anyway, your body adjusts to exercise. You need to up your mileage or speed. Doing some other kind of exercise will also help: something new will shock your body into losing more weight.

You mirror me!! I started the same time lost the same amount and all of a sudden I'm at a stand still. I think I'm gaining muscle though so I'm not that worried about it because muscle weighs more than fat, Your scale will not move, so stay away from it, instead look in the mirror if you like what you see ...then chances are your still on a roll so just stay away from that scale ...its misleading you . Try not to want results right away. I start doing that and get discouraged.....Right at the moment I want to throw in the towel!!! I'm just sooo sick of getting up and exercising. I just have to push my self because I know that I DO feel better once I get past that 15 minute mark!!Well good luck and do not give up your doing great!!!!! Oh yeah and if its not muscle that's holding the scale back.... just push your self to do 10 or 15 extra minutes more of exercise but do not give up!! You have come soooooooo far. Do not sabotage your self! Take care!

There could be many reasons. To name a few, do you consume a lot of sodium per day? Sodium will keep water retention in your body as well as raise blood pressure. Are you consuming any saturated fats, trans fat, hydrogenated fat? This will build fat around the mid section and back end. You need to continue to burn more calories than you consume daily. If you don't, the weight will stay or even increase. Drink a lot of water, even if you are not thirsty, to flush out your system. Sometimes you may experience a lull in weight loss, then all of a sudden, it will start again.
