Miyaka if it's a girl.
Yuri if it's a boy.

I'd choose a Japanese name that sounds melodious even if a Brit pronounces it. So pick out some nice Japanese names, then get some of your British friends to pronounce it and see how it rolls off their tongues. If it's too hard for them to pronounce then you might want to choose another name for your child. (I'm assuming this kid will grow up in the UK)

I think Yukiko is a very pretty name... or maybe Sophia??

both are nice, would suit this baby probly.

although those are girl's names. You didn't mention the gender!

For a boy:
Maybe Lee? I always loved that name. If not, then maybe Joshua!

ay.

Okay, there are so many beautiful names and Japanese ones are particularly special.
GIRL
Sora (sky-Japanese)
Suki (beloved-J)
Tama (jewel-J)
Kioshi (bright, shining, clear-J, can also be used for a boy)
Reiko (gratitude-J)
Sachi (girl child of bliss-J)
Naiomi (honest, beautiful, gentle-J, also Hebrew meaning similar as J. one)
Sanyu (happiness-J, can also be used for a boy)
Kin (golden-J, can also be used for a boy)
I like english names like Juliet and Emily

BOYS
Sanyu (happiness-J)
Ryo (excellent-J)
Kioshi (bright, shining, clear-J)
Kin (golden-J)
Ryu (dragon-J)
Any of these could go with english names like Clay (mortal), Patrick (noble), Richard (brave ruler), Sawyer or Benjamin.

Congratulations.

whatever name you choose for your child could you please make sure its a real name, not some silly thing like fuji or ash or any of the foolishness that some people are doing.
our friend's daughter married a japanese chap and their kids names are like anyone elses. brady and monique, tho for some reason brady can't say his little sister's name and he calls her Miko, which is really cute.
anyway i am sure you will find a lovely name for your little one.
cheers
