maybe, as there are many illegal immigrants in the uk and the government would save a lot of money and time if they did this. But maybe there shouldnt be amnesty as illegal immigration is illegal (as others have mentioned) so illegal immigrants should be punished as that is the system.

No. In the US, a report from Britain was noted on CNN news yesterday (February 25, 2007) that stated that lists of 2000 known terrorists have been found through intelligence networks, and that 6 terrorist attacks were thwarted. Amnesty for illegal immigrants would be suicide in the UK, same as for the US.

well said Antony r. where would it stop; would it become a yearly thing ?. we need to just deport those here illegally and stop all this appeals crap. we need to sort out the bloody solicitors who are making a fortune out of the taxpayers awsell

No but there should be a fair and legal way of immigrating. The Home office is incompetent and racist - no wonder people just become illegal immigrants.

The problem is there is no coherent system.
