I don't think it is illegal, but I am not sure if someone could be forced to pay up or not. It could be used as the focus of fun and will make the point at the same time.
I would give it a go!

It could be a good idea, not sure if it'll help against the swearing but it may make a nice little collection box for either something extra for y'all (a party, cookies, for everyone) or for charity.
Whatever you do, don't let the amount add up too long, loads of times the money from these boxes gets stolen. Someone should empty it weekly and put the money in a safe place, if the amount runs up it becomes a temptation to some, unfortunately.

The only rule about the swear box is that every time u swear u have to put in it some amount of money depend on the agreed amount for each time u swear
for example 2p, 20p, 50p, or even £1
Trust me it helps stop swearing if u keep to the rules.

Swear boxes are a good idea. They are often located in offices the proceeds of which go to charity. If you've got one near you, please try to avoid swearing, unless that is you are feeling particularly charitable.
Here's a word which has come into use in UK to replace existing swear words = NAFF.
Historically, the word naff comes from Gay slang of the 1950s. What it actually means is, not available for fcuking. In other words, a straight man = naff when he walks into a gay bar.
Just thought you'd like to know that when you say naff this and naff that and naffing hell etc.

We used to have one in our workplace, didn't last long though. Good luck, ours didn't really do the trick but your work might be different! No legal thing that I am aware of, it's normally just a bit of ...er... fun.

I think they are a good idea in the right environment. If anyone objects they can cause problems. If the money is stolen it can become a legal nightmare. Basically, if everyone in your office/room/whatever gets on really well and thinks alike and is honest, they can be a good savings scheme for a christmas/summer party!

swear boxes is just that if anyone swears they put a certain amount of money into the box, this is decided by everyone as to what amount of money would suffice.
