can be, especially if there is nothing obvious to cry about - or if its a very trivial thing setting you off, like not being able to find your keys.
Other symptoms (not necessarily all need to be present) are fatigue, worry, a feeling of doom, un-motivated to do anything, uncaring for things you used to have a passion for, feeling unwanted, feeling unnecessary, sleeping all day, procrastinating constantly, unable to focus on anything
The main thing is to know that this is a chemical imbalance in your system - NOT your fault. See a Dr. (best combo is a psychologist for the mental health, and a physician for the drugs - psychaitrists don't really listen, then just prescribe and tune out).

Do a wild card search for "depression symptoms" on your puter search engine.
There are several causes and degrees of depression. You may have SADS or seasonal affective disorder caused by lower sunlight in winter especially if you live in the north. If this is so, try to get more sun exposure on good days or you can rent or purchase a special light. Otherwise get Professional assessment, you may have a neuro chemical disorder, which is also curable with meds.
But, DO SOMETHING, don't sit around in your depression. Do it on a good day.

Crying can be one symptom of depression. Other symptoms include sadness, lack of energy, lack of desire to go to school, or work, or engage in hobbies or sports that the person used to enjoy. And feelings of hopelessness.
Chemical / hormonal imbalances etc. may also cause these feelings, which may require going to a dr. to have blood drawn, etc.

Not if you have a valid reason to be sad, or you are hormonal.
Other signs of depression.....a large lack or gain of appetite or need for sleep, you no longer enjoy the things you once did, feelings of hopelessness or helplessness

Yes. Along with loss of interests in life. No motivation to do anything. You would rather sleep all the time.

No. It may be acting too. Attention-seeking and things like that.
You should Google "depression symptoms" instead of asking the question here.
