I am a mother of 2 (5 & 2yrs old). From my experience most of the time by age 3 they are starting to show signs of wanting to potty train. If they can take their own diaper off then it is time.

The tricks I used to potty training (2 girls).
1. Buy her some "pretty panties" with their favorite cartoon charcter on em and tell her that she can only wear them if she potties on the potty like a big girl because those are "BIG GIRL PANTIES". I only had to do that a few times with my oldest and she was potting on the potty with all most no accidents.
2. Once she gets the hang of it and is using the potty or at least telling you that she needs to potty .... then REWARD her. Buy some lil cheap toys (coloring books, suckers, etc.) from the dollar store and give her one at the end of the day if she potties on the potty the most of the day.
3. Make a POTTY training calender (I have one that rewards her with 10 free tokens from chuck e cheese) that I printed out and hung on the side of the refridge and when she filled up the calender (7days) accident free then she got a specail trip to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate her being a "BIG GIRL".

Hope my ideas help you as much as they helped me .... if you need the calender or want any more ideas feel free to email me Smorri217@bellsouth.net

Well, my seven year old son is still in pull ups although he is autistic and he has an injury to his brain caused by surgery. He is getting there though.

It depends on your child. For girls the averaged age to get them potty trained is about 3 and a half. For boys it is four to four and a half.

Be patient, give rewards. You can try setting a timer when she goes and let her off the potty when the time goes off. If she potties before it goes off give her a little reward.

The main key is to be consistant though. If you forget to send her a lot, then she is going to get the idea that it is not important to make sure she goes to the rest room.

I have pottied trained a lot of children in day care and for the most part a reward and what I call a potty party seems to work. My son is an exception to the rule because of his special needs, but I am still consistant with him.

Girls are much easy than boys but I,ve worked in childcare so I've seen kids still in diapers at 4. My daughter was potty trained at 2. At the daycare we always started training them at 1and a half every child is different.

depends on the child but I would say 3 is definately old enough to start. I started training my son when he was 1 and a half and he was out of nappies all together by 2 and a half. I've also heard girls a bit easier to train. It doesn't take long once they realise what they have to do.

My 3year twins are having a difficult time as well. My family and friends keep telling me to be consistant and dont wait for them to tell you they have to go potty, just insist that they have to go and get them up on the potty chair whenever they feel like it. Also, this may sound sorta weird but take them in the bathroom with you while you go so they can sorta connect with whats going on. Right when they wake up-take them directly to the potty chair, after drinks and such, and before bedtime. Also training pants with the touch/feel thing seems to help them out. :) I hope this helps both of us. LOL good luck hun.

Not to worry.you train her when she is ready, its lot easier than to rush her.
Mine is same age and i started training her when she was 2.OMG what a nightmare.i tried everything and nothing worked bcz she wasnt ready. and now just before her 3rd birthday, she got trained in 10 days.so just let her take time and it will be a breeze.my pediatrician told me its really late when your child turns 3 1/2 yr old.

Have 3 boys I party train the day they start walking
show them the bath have them repeat the pee &pooo
as often as posible take them in there with me flush the toilet
(children like that sound)
and that was it and also with boys it is faster because you can see their litle p hard when they need to go pee
