there are a few ways to go about doing this. you can just get your MD and conduct research. with that route, you'll probably need some consultants or need to take some kind of basic stats/methods class so that you can design a respectable study.

there is the MD/PhD program that'll train you clincally while giving you the skills to conduct independent research, but keep in mind that they're incredibly competitive.

another is to try to figure out what you really want to do in life and focus on that.

Get a MD then further ur PhD in scientific research.

Or you can get your MD for free by getting your MD/PhD. It takes about 7 years to complete the dual program.

First you have to get you MD degree, then you might need some post graduate studies like advance microbiology, biochemistry, etc.

first become a doc..then branch out into ur area of interest as a researcher
