Morales is shot. His battles with Pacman, Marco Antonio Barrera and the scales have taken their toll on Eric. The best thing that Morales can do is retire and let people remember him for all of his great fights.

Eric has said himself "I want to fight one more time for a Championship in or near Tijuana, this is a difficult sport and my time is over." Eric seems as sharp as ever and only he knows how he feels.

That fight was their last encounter. It completed their great trilogy. Barrera and Morales can do it again since every fight was close. As for Pacquiao and Morales, the last fight proved that the Pacman was too much for the Mexican.

Eric Morales was/is one of the boxing greats, and like all great champions, they tend to hang on a bit to long. Only Eric can say when enough is enough, he has long earned the respect of the boxing world. He earned the right to retire on his own terms.

What ever his decision, I wish him the best life has to offer and thank him for a spectacular career. I enjoyed several of his fights in Vegas, and even caught his dismantling of Wayne (the pocket rocket) McCullough in Detroit. It was a privilege and he will be missed when he retires. Instant Hall of Fame inductee when he's eligible and a class act from bell to bell.

I hope it was their last fight and I'm hoping its close to Morales last fight ever. The man has endured too many wars in his career. I'm afraid that if he continues to fight he will end up a vegetable if not dead at a very early age. This will definitely happen if he ever steps in the ring with a puncher like manny again.
