Lamberts restaurant in Balham. Quality food - great knowledgable staff and a fantastic wine list. It is impossible to resist having 3 courses in there as you know it will all taste fantastic. Added bonuses are that they know where the food is sourced from and its a non-smoking restaurant,

China city is disappointing. the acceptable chinese eating places are scattered about in different parts of London. So if you're only after the adventure of ingesting in Chinatown , any eating position will do.yet those on Lisle street (it really is the line between Gerard street and Leicester sq.) are the acceptable. The London tube equipment is the worst I absolutely were on - overcrowded and stinky with rude and ignorant passengers. Chinatown is truly imperative. So if you're staying in a imperative motel you could walk. London buses are a lot extra appropriate notwithstanding from time to time the site visitors is a lot and slows them down. yet a minimum of you'll locate the position you're going and there are reliable perspectives for the newcomer. Chinatown is to the west of Covent backyard (in simple terms pass Charing pass highway), the east of Piccadilly and to the South of Soho and to the north of Leicester sq.. Leicester sq. & Piccadilly are the nearest tubes.

Posh - Les Trois Garcons, a camp-tastic French resto in E2. Taxidermy, tiaras and terrific food
Nosh - Tong Ka Nom Thai on the Harrow Road, NW10. Family-run, friendly, the best Thai food in London and nothing costs more than £6

Momo in Heddon Street just off Regent Street is a Moroccan restaurant that I absolutely love.
The food is amazing and a great atmosphere.
Brilliant for both romantic nights out or to take business clients.
Not cheap at about £30 per head.

Le Pont De La Tour at Butlers Wharf, great place to eat and I have eaten there three times and had a famous person sat on the next table twice! Plus the food is great but a little expensive.

For Vegetarian Indian food try Drummond Street, Near Euston Station. Particular favorite is Chutney's:

I recently ate at a newish Lebanese restaurant in Kensington Church Street called Randa. Two courses, mixed meze plus grilled kebab/dish of the day for £16.50 per head.

You will also find great cheapish Thai food at the Churchill further up Kensington Church Street as well as Fullers real ales. There is also a very trendy Modern British restaurant at the north end of KCS called Kensington Place:

For Turkish/Cypriot food you would work hard to find better value than the Tas restaurants near Waterloo and the British Museum:

For pub food I find the Wetherspoon chain the most reliable:

You are best to get local recommendations for local "caffs" and ggreasy spoons depending on what area your in. Local to me I could recommend Maureens Pie & Mash in Chrisp Street Market E14 :
