My dog had mange as well. There is no real home remedy for it. I bought a special medicated bath for her every 2 weeks from the vet which helped real well. Sorry, no idea what it was called though!

Sorry but no. Mange can be difficult to treat, even with prescription products you will get at the vet.
Using over the counter products or so called "home remedies" will only make your poor dog more miserable than he already is.
Usual treatment can be as simple as a prescription ointment if its a small area of Demodex mange, or as aggressive as prescription shampooing every other day, oral ivermectin to kill the mange, and oral antibiotics to help heal the skin infection.
Has you dog actually been diagnosed with mange?? I ask because there are other skin conditions that can look like mange.
There are 2 kinds: Demodex, which is not contagious or Sarcoptes, which is contagious to other pets and people.
