Used to work in a foundry, where evry other person was missing a finger somewhere off ther hands.
Actually happened in front of me one day. A lad was fastening a chain around a piece of metal, told the crane driver to raise, he raised, worker left his finger in between links. Ripped off! Just took his glove, and finger, skywards.
After it had been picked up and the usual p1sstaking over with, he was taken to hospital. They couldn't re-attach his finger as it was too badly mangled. never mind, a story for the grandkids in the future.
Lots of claret too!
