I have heard that if we watch anything on lcd tvs in a dark room or suppose with all lights off it doesnot give better results.I mean the quality decreases or somethin. And also the response time of lcd tv is less than plasma tvs.I heard that there are tvs with 8ms response time. How good is this for playing fast motion games? And what is the response time of plasma tvs?

LCD's are fine in low light and for fast games. I have a Sony Bravia XBR 40" and HDTV, DVDs, the Xbox 360 and Wii look fantastic on it. It has an 8ms response time, which is fine for all fast motion. I've noticed no ghosting at all.

The issue with viewing an LCD in the dark that you refer to may really be the issue with black levels on an LCD screen. Because the TV works by shining bright light through little LCD cells, black is created by blocking that light. However, LCDs cannot block 100% of the light, so you end up with a very very dark gray. This would be more noticeable in very dark scenes, and also when viewed in a very dark room. The ambient light in the room does not actually cause the TV to function differently or "decrease quality" as you say - it just highlights one of the shortcomings of LCD technology. For what it's worth, this hasn't been a problem for me. Normally the scenes are not very dark, and the lights are on in the room, so I usually don't notice it.

Hope this helps.

Its all good, either are at 8 ms and perform excellent with the lights off, plasma has a better picture though. When you turn a light on, then its possible to get glare. In a bright room the LCD's rule, due to the non-reflective coating. Another thing is power, a 42" Plasma consumes two thirds more power than a 42" LCD. I play the Wii on my 42" Toshiba LCD Pro Series and its awesome, and LCD panels are the right choice with your PC's. Hope this helps, peace out!
