Hi there

I would like to know are any charities out there which would help a charity that I am with (St Cleopas Urban Aid Project) in terms of providing funds/grants or even equipment to set up an Internet connection for 10 computers in the building of the charity.
Has anyone used any other charities in similar situations for their charity or got services/consultancy from organisations that offer discounts to charities for internet and network setups?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks,
Adam

You don't want to contact charities to help you - but rather "Foundations". Many service providers and large corporations (i. e., Verizon, Microsoft, Motorola, etc.) have community service foundations just for making such donations. It's research time.

Try an organisation called "Computers for Charities" - (look online) - most of their work is abroad, but they are based in southern UK, and are very helpful, and even if they can't help you (although they MAY well be able to), they should be able to point you in the right direction.

I have done a search on my database, but your objects are too wide for me to be able to give you a short answer. You are working in a deprived area and should have no difficulty in finding a source of funding for this. I suggest you contact your local CVS http://www.nacvs.org.uk/cgi-bin/dirsrc.pl?ID=126 and ask for a fundraising consultation. This will be free.

There seems to be an active project in Liverpool.
