Most are afraid to stand on the side of doing right and not siding with the crowd. The crowd insults so most jump so they do not feel alone.

Good question. I don't have a world wide answer but I can tell you what I tell the young people that have worked for me over the years. When they brag about how much BS, crap or insults they have given the police or the crap they "would" give the police... I always ask them the same thing "Why on earth would you want to pi$$ off someone with not only the authority to arrest you and take away your freedom, if only for a few hours or even pull their weapon and shot your a$$...regardless if you actually deserved it?"

I tell them that if they believe they are right and the police officer in wrong...just do as the officer orders....it is the law...and then work it out down at the station.

And yes, I think that this type and actual criminal behavior is growing worldwide.

What are you talking about --- criminal behavior towards police -- insults are not what is considered "criminal behavior". Do you mean do people worldwide have disdain for and want to kill police? If they've had anything to do with them, whether they've been guilty or not, or requesting assistance -- then yes it is a worldwide situation (and I'm just talking in general because there are a few exceptions -- I almost married one of those exceptions so I'm not a "criminal" type). Most police do not act respectful of people or their rights and come off with an attitude and insulting behavior at the onset -- they wouldn't last one minute in the private sector. And it's getting worse as they take away more and more of the individual's rights and give themselves increasing power with their own "internal investigations" which always rule on the side of their officers -- duh.

Decent and law abiding people don't. I've found most who critize the police have been on the receiving end of some type of police contact.
Its not an easy job and not everyone can do it. Not every cop should be a cop either. There are those who manage to float through a career and be idiots, criminals, lazy and marking time to collect a pension. Some (and not all) abuse their authority and take adavantage of situations under the color of their badge.
Then you have the dedicated and hard working cops who do the public the service thats expected.
But people think that the cops are for everything. They're called for arguments, land disputes and a myriad of other silly things that are not their field and usually are civil matters anyway. This is where people get angry. Because the police "aren't helping them". It never occurs to them that the police CAN'T hekp them. The woman who is always involved in a domestic dispute and when an arrest isn't made because there is no probable cause she rants and raves that the cops are "no good". Yet she bails out her hubby immediately from lockup and curses the cops for taking him away to begin with. The guy who complains to police because the neighbor cut a flowering bush down and it wasn't on his property. These are the people I hate dealing with. People who hate the police are usually the type who have no control of their own lives. They do stupid things and put themselves into situations that they want the police to extricate them from.
I hate all of them. Solve your own goddamn problems....as if I haven't enough of MY OWN to deal with I get to solve yours. Only to listen to someone whine and complain because my decision doesn't favor them and what they wanted.

Many people don't realize that the police are Gods and NEVER do anything wrong. Also, many people don't read the papers and see the articles, which appear every day, about corruption centering around law enforcement. Nearly ALL of the schoolyard bullies went on to become police officers. They like the work and they get paid for doing what they love--bullying. By the way, I LOVE being told what to do and what not to do. It makes me feel all grown up inside. My mom and dad died years ago, and I'd be LOST without some authority figure protecting me from the boogieman and telling me what I can and cannot put in my body--you know, just taking care of me in general. I couldn't make it without them. Dear lord, put MORE cops up our asses telling us what to do. Amen.

The only reason people insult or disrespect the police is they are under the influence or they are a scumbucket .A law biding citizen know they are here for our protection and holds them in high regaurd . Scumbags just love acting macho and that's their way of showing off . It's like the little guy wanting to take on the biggest guy to show how great he is .

The reason being is that there are more criminals in the police force than any where else, they are definitely not law abiding when off duty. Then when they are off duty then they use their position to get what they want, they are the ones that are throwing the police forces names away. When they start behaving like police then maybe the public will start respecting them, but yes it is World Wide.

People insult the police because they are suppose to serve and protect us when all they do is harass us. I can drive down the street going 45 in a 30, and as long as I am wearing my seat belt I will not get pulled over. Now if I am going 30 in a 30 and not wearing my seat belt I will get pulled over. How is that serving and protecting me......they don't worry about the drug dealers, rapist, and murders all they care about is the almighty $ they are making off the seat belt tickets.

It's usually the ones who don't want to abide by the laws who are the most critical of the police. I guess that is worldwide.

Police brutality and abuses are rampant in many countries. Thus, it is time for law enforcement agencies to weed out the scalawags in their ranks in order to change their image and the people can have a positive view of their organization.
