Virus = Malicious software designed to disrupt your system and destroy data with no benefit to the Creator.
Spyware = Used by legitimate and non legitimate businesses designed to watch what you do on the net and profile your characteristics so as specifically target adds and services at you.
Worm = Similar to spyware but will steal confidential information such as bank details and try to control your comp, and web browser.
Pop-up = An unsolicited add that opens in a new window or over the top of your current window. Usually controlled by the spyware.
