Lord Muruga or Skanda is also known as Guhan (or Lord of the heart). looking at it from a normal point of view, he who lives in people's heart lives for ever; so Skanda is immortal. looking at it from the spiritual point of view: There is a belief among believers that the heart chakra is the toughest chakra to cross and once your conciousness crosses the region of the heart, you get access to the higher planes of existance. Your subtle bodies evolve to a higher plane and your conciousness becomes immortal. Finally skanda is known as the son or essence of Shiva the ultimate, so looking at it from that point of view skanda is not only immortal, he is the cause of all that exists. I would like to put it like this. Muruga is the way for one to become immortal

I dunno but an immortal can only be killed if another immortal cuts his head off.
