You must have a healthy diet, combined with exercise. Do not buy pre-packaged foods, watch your labels for partially hydrogenated oils, stay away from those.
Exercise should be 15-20 minutes of cardio 4-5 times a week, strength training in the form of weights 2-3 times a week, make sure you give yourself a 48 hour break when strength training with weights, your muscles need the rest. Interval training is great, cardio ofr 2-5 minutes, then pick up the weights and do a couple minutes of weights, then back to cardio, and keep repeating, make sure you get your warm up in at the beginning, some stretching to warm up your muscles, then at the end also to stretch those muscles you used, and a short cool down.
And my response to the answer that if your a woman you won't bulk up, is this, yes women can bulk up without steroids, thats untrue to say that, there are women in competition that do not take any supplements, Im sure your not ready to spend the time they have to put in to get that way. They spend endless hours lifting. Good Luck!

Exercise. Any form of aerobic exercise like jogging or rowing. Anything that basically gets you sweating. You can however lift weights too as this burns fat while you rest. If you're not taking any substances women cannot and will not become these muscular creatures when doing weight lifting as the female body is not made for this. So don't be scared to try any form of exercise.

Eat healthy. Exercise every day. And when you make your plan stick to it. Don't give up. 99% of people set a goal and they give up in the first week because they don't see any results. You're not going to see results that fast. If you stick to your plan for a month and you don't see results, you're doing something wrong.
