1. Let it heal, watch for infection.

2. Get it professionally pierced.

3. Follow aftercare instructions.

4. Never perform a body modification on yourself.

Did you do it yourself? Not so bright in the first place if you did. But that aside, the first week is dangerous to remove a new ear ring. An open wound tries to prevent infection by closing up when it has a chance. You should see a piercer and ask them if it can be fixed, saved or is a lost cause. In either case, see about getting antibiotics if it starts swelling at all. Infections in ears don't go away on their own ... I know ... I've had them from piercings gone wrong.

maybe the question should be, why did you take the earring out??
a fresh piercing is not going to stay open very long, so the best thing would be to wait a while for it to heal properly, make sure there isn't any infection, and go to a professional to get it re-pierced.
i doubt if you went to a professional in the first place, because they would have to you to keep the earring in a fresh piercing for a minimum of six weeks.

The reason is that the pierce is a fresh wound and as all fresh wounds they close to prevent infection. There are two things you could do; first, sterilize the earing and push it through the opening, yes it will hurt more then the first time; second, you can let it heal naturally about a month and a half or two and then get it redone.

firstly (and as you know probably know!) don't take a piercing out so soon especially if you intend on keeping it. I suggest you sterilise the piercing, be brave and push it back through - yes it will hurt but its a piercing beauty is pain. If you can't do it yourself... give it a month or so and then go back and get it repierced.

Just leave it out.

You never should have removed the jewelry in the first place and trying to get it back in will only cause pain and healing/health issues.

The best thing you can do is just leave it out, let it heal up and have it repierced again later.

Edit: Awesome Blair, awesome.

Once you do a piercing you have to leave it on a least a few days because as you saw it closed on you,so you have to re-pierce it.This time leave it on a day or two.

Try rubbing an ice-cube on the front and back to numb it a bit, then put the earring in...or use a steralize needle first, then the earring. Once you have the earring in, steralize often and turn.

The percing is new, so you shouldn't take it out. You will prpobably have to let it heal and repierce it, unless you can handle thepain of forcing it through.
