hi,first off,you are perfectly "normal" and going thru what most of us went thru when a teen...getting outside to do sports,or even just taking walks, riding a bike will not only be good for your body, but for your mind/thoughts...pick up a camera and you will see so much beauty and interesting things you never thought to look at until you saw them thru a lens...it is great fun!...nothing wrong at all with listening to music, but expand your horizons and try to listen to a variety...reggae is very upbeat music, and there are all kinds of dance beats...write down 1 or 2 new things to do at least a few times each week...you have your whole life ahead of you and don't forget to have fun thru every age! oh yeah, helping others is also good to get your mind focused elsewhere in a positive way...good luck,hon.....peace,gayle

First, you must recognize when you are thinking negatively, then stop yourself, and find out how to convert the negative thought into a positive and constructive one.
For instance, let's analyze your question: "How do I STOP my NEGATIVE thinking?" Ok if you would have used the technique I am describing, you could have just as easily asked "How can I START thinking more POSITIVELY?" See, the second question is already more constructive than the first. It has more energy. It is already moved in the right direction. People are more likely to help you because your attitude will seem better.
At first will be tough to break the habit of looking at the "glass half empty," but if you put this into practice in your life, you will see results soon. Being positive will improve your quality of life, make things seem easier, and you will be healthier, happier, and probably live longer. Attitude is everything.
Good luck!

It might be a little before your time, but I find my mood is uplifted heaps by listening to 60's & 70's uptempo music... the music was a lot more innocent and had a real feelgood vibe about it. At 14 you've got a long journey ahead of you... surround yourself with positive influences & you'll be surprised how much easier the ride becomes. Be safe & best wishes. Cheers.

Whenever a negative thought creeps into your mind try and think in the opposite direction. For instance; Oh that friend is not going to call me....but maybe he will....or....this is gonna be an awful day....but it's possible something good may happen.
Think that way a lot, brainwash yourself. It does seem to me that the music nowadays is all doom and gloom. Good Luck. Hang in there!

If there is a rule, which says "You should not think of Monkey"
Your mind will always think of Monkey, because you want to not think of that. So stop trying to avoid negitive thaughts, let them come and go.
People who are less successful in life get more negitive thaughts.
Just build the confidence, and concentrate more on positive things.
Do something creative, and do something which brings your morale up.
Concentrate on God, that also helps.

what you're going through is normal among teen age girls but very challenging too. you need to find the root cause of your negative thinking because if you don't deal with it in your teen years, it will be haunt you when you're older or mould you into a very insecure and unhappy person. so try to ask yourself what it is you're negative about and why.
how you deal with these thoughts will greatly impact the person you'll be in future.
