I've just returned from the doctor who took my blood pressure. It was "150 over 105". He said that it was a little high but I just needed to try and relax for a few days and it would reduce. My question is: does this seem very high or just a little high by normal standards?
Thanks!

it is a little high. Cut your salt intake as well and hopefully you'll be fine.

Good luck

Your Blood pressure should have a diatolic reading of less than 100 yours is 105 so therefore it high. (Diastolic is the lower reading) Normailly it should be around 120 over 80. IT is not high considering I have seen 250 on 160 as a BP but it still is high in respect to the fact you should get it lower than 100. Hypertension (High BP) causes a lot of ther problems such as heart disease and stroke.

Hope your doctor told you to monitor your blood pressure at regular intervals (at least twice a week) and record the results. Not to mention, schedule a follow-up visit to discuss your record of blood pressure results in about three months.

That's pretty high. A normal blood pressure is under 120/80.

well....it was high but sometimes we are nervous when we go to the doc and that makes it go up.....if you are over weight, lose some and that will also help....if you eat foods that are heavy in salt, change your diet to decrease your sodium intake and that will also help......then you should go to the pharmacy or back to the doc periodically and have it rechecked...good luck
