God is the Father, the son, and the holy spirit. He watches over us and guides us throughout our lives. Everything good comes from God. But Sin, on the other comes from Satan. Follow god and his good ways and you will live well.

The personal name of the only true God is Jehovah. That is his self-designation. He is the Creator and therefore the rightful Sovereign Ruler of the universe. "Jehovah" is translated from the Hebrew Tetragrammaton and means "He Causes to Become." The 4 Hebrew letters are represented in many languages by the letters JHVH or YHWH. No human can be certain today how it was originally pronounced in Hebrew since Biblical Hebrew was originally written with only consonants, no vowels. When the language was in everyday use, readers easily provided the proper vowels. In the King James Version of the Bible the name Jehovah is found at Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; 26:4. You can also see Genesis 22:14; Exodus 17:15 and Judges 6:24.

The name God refers to the deity held by monotheists to be the supreme reality. God is believed to be the sole creator of the universe.[1] As of 2007, a majority of human beings generally believe in a monotheistic God, usually in some form of the Abrahamic God of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.[2] The unifying monotheistic conception of Brahman prevailing in the henotheistic belief system of Hinduism is also significant as a representative element in humanity's belief in a supreme God.
Theologians have ascribed certain attributes to God, including omniscience, omnipotence, omnipresence, perfect goodness, divine simplicity, and eternal and necessary existence. He has been described as incorporeal, a personal being, a source of moral obligation, and the greatest conceivable existent.[1] These attributes were supported to varying degrees by the early Christian, Muslim, and Jewish scholars, including St Augustine,[3] Al-Ghazali,[4] and Maimonides.[3]
All the notable medieval philosophers developed arguments for the existence of God,[4] attempting to wrestle with the contradictions God's attributes seem to imply. The last few hundred years of philosophy have seen sustained attacks on some of the arguments for God's existence. The theist response has been either to contend, like Alvin Plantinga, that faith is properly basic; or to accept, like Richard Swinburne, the evidentialist challenge.

God is Spirit, and they that worship Him, must worship Him in Spirit and in truth.
God is the Creator of all things.
For I know the plans I have for you says God
Plans for good and not for evil
Plans to give you a future and a hope.

Seek the Lord while He may be found
Call on Him while He is near
Let the wicked forsake his way
And the unrighteous man his thoughts.

God can be anything and anyone you want. God can be an idea, a puppy, an idol, it can be yourself, it can be satan. It can be allah, Buddah, humanity, Mother Earth, etc. Not only that, you can have all the gods you want.
If you want the one and only True God, now that is a different matter.
The true God is Truth, Love, Life, All-powerful, All-knowing, All-present, Our Creator, and Our Father. His attributes are endless, but essentially they can be wrapped up in one word, and that is "good", God is good, good as in just, righteous.
The name He came to us by is Jesus, there is no other name whereby we can be said. But He has many names that we call Him by, His really true name is not known to us yet, and will not be known until we are one with Him in heaven (if we accept Him as our God).
You cannot pick a name for Him, that is, we are given the names He likes to go by. But, at the same time, if you never knew those names, and know Him by a name that is just between you and Him, then I am sure He would accept it. I do not think He would mind if you call Him by a name that you make up, as long as it represents in your mind the ultimate good that He is, and not anything else.
What is more important to Him, than all His Name (that we know) is His Word. Psalms 138:2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
1Jo 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Lu 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Jo 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
(all-powerful) Re 19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
(all-present) Ps 139:7-8 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
(all-knowing) 1Jo 3:20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
Eph 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
