average would be around 36 mpg.On the motorway i would expect a return of 40-44 mpg and around local area then around 30mpg on a petrol 1.8 ltr.You will not get 50mpg out of it on a long run unless its a diesel.These are not the manufacturers figures,they are mine as i drive throughout the country in a car of the similar size.Hope this helps!

Nissan petrols have never been any good at returning good fuel consumption figures even diesels are not that good.

depends on the engine size but 2litre primeras are quite heavy on fuel.1.6 are a bit lighter
