I realise Valentine's Day has been and gone but this message coming from a Spanish guy when I know the Spanish don't really celebrate Valentine's Day, what do you think his motives are? We are still very friendly but what do you think of this message? Is he being friendly or.......?

Ok ok I understand Spanish people do celebrate Valentine's Day but I'm half Spansih and have spent time living in Spain and know they don't celebrate it as much as in the UK or it's not as commercial I'd just like the perspective of an actual Spanish person in regards to the message. Answers welcome in Spanish/Catalan too.

Gracias!

Spanish people certainly do celebrate St Valentine's Day; depending on the country, it is known as Día de San Valentín or El Día de los Enamorados.

Maybe it has been a while since you were living here in Spain as we do celebrate Valentine´s Day and every year more.

So, your friend sent you a card, great. No problem.

we do celebrated but not as much as u. You are right we dont give presents to everyone or greet all around. My friends and i we do say HAPPY SAINT VALENTINES DAY. but just as friends and nothing else. depends thought in the person i guess. I dont think it means anything special, no big deal.
