There are quite a number of good companies that do travel cover for people with pre-existing medical conditions of all sorts (including high blood pressure). I've used Columbus with no probs for several years. Their freephone is 0800 083 9503: they'll give you a quote based on your particular case.
Another company that's well worth checking is The Insurance Surgery. They're a broker, so they have access to several companies. You start off by filling in a few details, then they point you in the direction of good potential companies.
Since you're going to Switzerland, you'll also need a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). It's the credit-card thing that replaced the old E111 form. Even though Switzerland isn't part of the EU, it still subscribes to the European reciprocal healthcare network. Your insurers will expect and require you to have one and won't cover you for stuff that would have been paid-for or subsidised with it if you don't.
You can apply for this online (details here) http://www.dh.gov.uk/PolicyAndGuidance/HealthAdviceForTravellers/GettingTreatmentAroundTheWorld/EEAAndSwitzerland/EEAAndSwitzerlandArticle/fs/en?CONTENT_ID=4114793&chk=KCVYDZ
Good luck -- and I'm sorry you're not travelling for happy reasons. Wishing you well for next week.

All travel insurance providers will need to know that you have raised cholesterol as I am sure you are aware. I would try American Express travel insurance who are very good and as long as it is being controlled it souldnt be a problem.
Best of luck

Definately get return and forth coverage so which you and your loved ones are lined once you're out of the country, I cant inform you procedures significant that's to have conceal for medical, injuries, loss of bags, ignored flights and so on. i can propose return and forth coverage internet as they have a cost promise meaning in case you come across a similar coverage that suits or exceeds the conceal everywhere else you and your loved ones get a loose coverage. I checked the T&C's for you contained with regards to being pregnant - "being pregnant interior 12 weeks in the previous the envisioned date of transport". considering which you're 5 months pregnant you're extra advantageous than 12 weeks in the previous transport date so which you're lined. super to have some peace of suggestions eh :). I checked the cost for you, your son and husband for a international single trip return and forth coverage insurance and it got here to £32.50. choose for it!

"oncidents"....a new word, meaning something which is either an incident and an accident when such occurrence is occasioned by or aggravated by a pre-existing and "on"going medical condition during travel.
easy answer....forget the funeral.
the "guest" is dead, and therefore unlikely to notice your absence.
