i dont follow any religion, i do have a belief in something higher than ourselves but i cant give him/her or it a name like God. A couple of years ago my boiler packed up and we went without hot water for several months, at this time i was pregnant. Sadly i found out i was to loose the pregnancy as it had'nt taken, i was 12 weeks. I started to miscarry at home alone, its was highly painful and i was adviced to take a warm bath to ease the pain. of course the boiler didnt work so was faced with the prospect of boiling a kettle several times and taking trips upstairs, at this point i was doubled over in pain. something told me to turn on the hot tap (I dont mean a little voice, i mean my thoughts) and low and behold hot water. Hours later it was over and the boiler didnt work again until we replaced it completely a couple of weeks later. im confused as to why it worked for those 5 mins, is this an act of God? or a pure coincidence? any stories of strange happenings would be appreciated.

Dear, God is not the thing you can relate with an especial religion. You should just believe that it is an eternity power that help you when you ask for something with all your heart and soul. God will help even irreligious people to make them noticed existence of God.

First let me say I am a devout Christian. I know for a fact that God is there and so is Jesus and our Holy Spirit. They are as real as you are. If you had a desperate need, they supplied it. I urge you to give Jesus a chance. Miracles happen everyday and they don't have to be earth shaking Miracles but simple little things that you desperately need and for some reason as some would think, they happen. Most would call that a coincidence but what a coincidence huh? God loves you so very, very much. You are His child and He Has the Love of a Father for you. Why would He not allow a simple little thing like this happen? No one can explain God's reasons for doing what He does because we are as children when it comes to knowing what we know. There are so very many things we don't know yet most think we've got it all covered. They think we are so very smart and that's so ignorant it's not even funny. Just know this, God loves you and always will no matter what you have done or what you will do in your lifetime. Being saved is to live a totally new life and to be changed as you will never imagine. God Bless you.

God may be reaching out to you. He may be trying to get a message to you. This may be an act of God. The fact that we are alive are all acts of God. God is in control of the entire universe. He may be trying to tell you that He exists. He may be showing you that if you believed in Him, He may help you even more. Try talking to Him and ask Him for small and big favors. He may just answer some of your prayers even if you don't believe in Him yet. Maybe one of these days, one of His miracles will touch your heart enough to know that He actually exists and loves you very much just as He is reaching out to you through all the people who gave you such loving answers. I have had some experiences like these. For example, I was crossing the street and a cab was coming toward me and was about to hit me. Then I thought I was finished. But suddenly, a blue buggy or volkswagon sped up into the cab and crushed its front area. The blue car disappeared. The cab stopped instantly and I crossed the street unharmed. I also had similar small and big experiences. God always helps me even when I don't ask him. I think it is because my mother and some friends and relatives always pray for us. Try God. You have nothing to lose and eternal happiness to gain.

One never knows. Maybe you would have been killed ten times over, each and every day of your life, but it does not happen due to direct interference of God somehow. All I know is that each breath that we take is of God, and one breath will be our last. We are here by God's mercy, He gives us all the time that we need to come to Him. Things that happen in our lives are protected to that extent, so that we will have no excuse when we come to Him in the Judgement.

God loves us, and wishes that no one should be condemned, but at the same time, we are all already condemned, so He sent a Way to fix all that by coming to us Himself as Jesus Christ, who we know as God the Son. He lived a perfect life on our behalf, giving it all freely to us as a personal gift of immortality. We beat Him horribly and nailed Him to the cross for it, yet He still, after we did that, used this occasion to die the death that we deserved. He took our punishment and our sins upon Himself and brought them to the grave with Him and left them nailed there, forever dead.

Being God, He rose again and offers to us this same resurrection. He did this to show us how it is done, how it will happen, what kind of gift it is, and so that we might know without a doubt that it is real. If you read God's Word, you will learn the rest of the story, about how God is in love with us and how God loved us first. You will read why we, who accept God's proposal, are called the Bride of Christ and the joy that waits for us in eternity.

What does any of this have to do with religion by the way?

Your boiler wasn't as broken as you thought. Many devices - like boilers - will give out a little more before going completely kaput. Don't read too much into it.

Sorry to hear the rest of the sad story.

I believe this was the kindest of God. God loves you even though you're not even sure if he exists. God is a loving Father who takes care of us. Find out who he is -- he desires a relationship with you. I suggest getting a Bible and reading the gospel of John -- it has been called God's love letter to us.

There are no gods. Maybe it was coincidence; maybe you registered some change (noise from the pipes, whatever) on some unconscious level, maybe not using it for a few months let the boiler 'rest' enough to be usable for a few minutes.

If you look for meaning where there is none, you will find it.

No doubt God did help you. You are a good soul and so he came to your rescue. God does not look at the religions. God looks for the good souls. God got into your subsconcious stage and told you to open the tap. God is always by the side of you and trust in him.

Yes, this was a miracle of God. God loves us all, very much and is always trying to help us. In your case, he did try to tell you to turn on the hot water. How can you question God's existence when you are surrounded by so many miracles daily? The warmth from the evolving sun; Vegetation to give us and animals food; Miracle of birth; The amazing way the human body works; Rain to cool the earth and give us water and nourish the trees. The list is endless.

Strange coincidences happen a million times each day. In the one or two cases that a coincidence has any significance to somebody, he or she takes it for a "sign" for whatever. In the other 999998 cases the coincidence is dismissed or taken for what it is.
As human beings it is difficult for us to accept that there are things that just happen, and we feel the need to mystify it. In fact this is an animal instinct. Every animal will observe its surroundings, and if anything strange happens (like a strange sound, for example) the animal will behave as if it had something to do with this event, and react on it (like run away).
