and you really weren't interested in them at all,

would you exhibit these signs:

blushing,
nodding,
smiling

Or would you think of a reason not to go out with them?

depends if you like him

ouch, toughie! depends on who it is, and if I like somebody else at the moment. If not, or if I'm not trying to make the guy that I fancy jealous, then maybe.

It really depends on who the guy who's asking me out is. Is he nice? cute? Am I at least attracted to him? If I were then I'd probably say yes- just to try it out. good guys come in all sorts of packages so who knows? he could be the one for me, besides, humiliating him in front of other people would be too cruel.

If he was not my type, though, I would simly tell him I'd think about it and think of a reason not to say yes in private afterwards. I'd also be really apologetic and nice about it

what would you do?

Ooh this is a hard one!! I always dread that... like i pray a day like that will never come. However, if it DID manage to happen, I'd probably blush redder than a tomato, and tell them i'd think about it. But then that could depend on how well i know them, too. Yes, it's very hard this question. Go with gut feeling!!

Well that happened to me once up on a time and i had never gone on a date and was scared to death of a boy so i know my face turn a very dark red and i may have said something stupid because his friends laughed (maybe i was set up) Who cares where the darn river was anyway lol He asked me to go to a football game. I think i said you really don't mean it after all i was in red faced shock-he said he meant it from the tip of his toes to the top of his head and i thought that i could just die of embarrassment right there and later on he called me a *****and i was a young virgin so i did not deserve that when i tried to tell him i was sorry for the way i acted. Anyway that water has gone under the bridge and even to the darn river(i do like rivers)that was located somewhere at that time anyway and i just quit studying and did not even care if i passed or failed or what the heck-Two years there was enough. the one i finally dated just kept calling me-even threw tomatoes at me and some other girls-joined the army-got drunk over my rejecting him-came over in person on a day i tried to cook my first meal which i ate anyway even though it was very bad. He brought his friends over saying that they wanted to go to a movie and just needed me to go along casual like so there would be 4 of us. I gave up (and later fell in love for the first time.) So i said O.K just let me get ready.Too top it all off i left with a broken heart(this one-was forbidden to date him).I may have run away with him if I had not been afraid that my cooking would have killed him. For heavens sake ask her out by handing her a note -call her-or use the Internet or get her by herself and save her and yourself embarrassment-Who knows she might could like you. If i had it to do over i would just take off running to see the counselor and never go back to that history class again even if i had to run away or hide in the bathroom for the rest of the year during that class.

I would probably say yes and then tell the person privately that you aren't into them. There's no reason to be rude and hurt their feelings in public, but you shouldn't have to go the date either. Aparently it wouldn't work out anyways if this person is so clueless they couldn't tell you didn't like them.

you talk about those responses as if they are artificial. Every one of those signs should only be honest. If you are going to turn someone down that walked up in front of other people though, i would take them aside where nobody is listening and let them down lightly.

If this was me and I'm not interested in that person, I would tell her that I just want us to be friends for now. If she agrees then I'll still go out with her ... of course... just as friends.

No, I'd just laugh and tell them that now's not a good time for me. I wouldn't lead them on, I'd just try and get away.

I would say " let me think about it". That way neither of us is embarassed or pressured.
