I m living a long distance romance with an american (Im italian). He's planning to move to italy soon. Yesterday we talked over the phone and everything seemed to be ok (I love you, I wanna be with you, I want you, I wanna start a family with you etc). Then we had a little fight. This morning I got this message: "Ciao, I don't know how to say forever, but that's what I'm saying to you, adios, ciao". Now, we have used the word forever in other context as in "If I move to italy it'll be forever" or things like that. My question is: DO YOU THINK THAT WITH THIS MESSAGE HE'S TELLING ME THAT IT'S OVER? PLZ, I m so desperate

Give yourselves a break and rethink the discussion. After every argument you feel bad about it. Call him up in a few days and ask if "adios Ciao" is over yet?

call him and clarify it. if it's for the worst then so be it. but if you dont want to give him up and it's the worst, then a direct call can help, cos you can make it clear to him over the phone that you still love him. it could all be just misunderstanding. take the time to find out what wasnt working out too so that you can learn and move on.

if you misread the meaning and all's well, then all the more you should get the confirmation quick. call him. win or lose.

If he is bidding u good bye forever over a little fight, u r going to have a tough time with him as u r in any case going to fight on many petty matters as a matter of course.

It means that you should just move on and forget about him. Sounds like he never had any plans to move and was looking for an excuse to get out.

Doesn't ciao also mean hello?
