Im off to London this week, staying around Picadilly Circus. What bars are in that area, and are good, without being too up their own bum???

well the underworld is in camden town thats a long way from piccadilly, the porterhouse is like a big barn with no hay, gordons wine bar in villiers st next to charing cross is a great place for starters then go up regent st into portland place turn left into new cavendish st and take the first right into weymouth mews, there you will find the dover castle a great pub full of interesting people.

For some reason, I really like The Porterhouse, which is near Covent Garden Tube. They have the biggest selection of international beers at decent prices (the choice is so big they have a menu, try choosing between drinking Israeli beer or a Palestinian one, its political!)
The place itself is like a goblin laboratory, it has stairs and balconies and I think is about four levels from top to bottom... its a bit of a maze, I like that! And the food is pretty good too.
Its not the best bar in London, its not got anything other bars don't have, but its a nice mix of lots of cool things and is easy to get to and an enjoyable place.

I once went to a wine bar on Villier street which was really weird and cool. They only had wine, though, no beer and stuff. Have fun - London rocks!
