Im filipino so i eat more home-cooked food than anything.
yess that means rice and a bunch of meats.

how the heck do you count calories on that?
i look at my plate of rice and adobo (im sure some of you know what that is) and i dont even know if its over 500 calories.
any tips?

Believe me I had the same problem because I eat food cooked at home and our country's specialities. then I found www.sparkpeople.com which is absolutely free and you can count your daily calorie intake. if the food is not in their list, you can go to the recipe part and put all the ingredients of that food there and it will count for you how much calorie does it have. but dont forget to write for how many people is that amount of food.

You can check your calories on a calorie counter web site - http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/ - you may need to weigh your food to be sure that you are getting the right serving size.

look at the nutrition labels, use proper portion size and that should lead you to the amount of calories
