I was having a really bad artheritis before 2 years I was on the bed for almost 2 months because of swelling of my right knee and foot after some steroid medications the swelling was gone and i was back to normal except increase in some weight. Now i am 60 kgs. with 5.1 ft. height i dont really have any problem but my legs , hand and back pains if i am walking little also. before 2 days i have started accupressure therapy for this and with 2 sittings i am feeling better as my stiffness of the ankle and knees is vanishing but i want to know whether this will be a temporary effect or i can rely on it for a long time because therepy is of 6 sittings minimum and 12 sittings maximum so should i continue to have 12 sittings or my case will be as same as previous after stopping this therepy.

I have heard that accupuncture is very successful for persons with fibromyalgia but I can't try it because I am retired on Medicare and it won't pay for it. Living on Social Security payments is a pretty slim existence! I'm glad you found something that seems to be helping. I don't know how long the effects will last but I certainly wish you the best. I have rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis and it's very debilitating.

A Chiropractor and Massage Therapist may help.
Nician and B-complex, vitamins C and E, selenium, boron, essencial fatty acids, and S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine (SAMe) all have been known to help according to The Doctors Complete Guide To Vitamins And Minerals.

Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.

Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.

The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

For more information read The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. It teaches what to do and where the pain comes from.

You should create a rule about yourself .
If your doctor ıs successful in treating your diseases you should not do any treatments without asking him .
Because there are not many doctors who are successful in treating arthritis. You are lucky in my opinion .
