When I was growing up in the 1960s', even then I knew we were in trouble. I could not believe the throw away things that were coming out. Candy Wrappers where at one time there had been no wrapper at all. Where was this to end?

In the 1970s' I worked at a Pepsi Cola bottling plant. This plant used glass bottles (with a deposit). After my third year I noticed that cans were starting to come in and were popular. Back then, no deposit on cans as people thought that was a waste of time. There was talk at that time of changing over to plastic bottles as it was cheaper and you needed less workers to produce them. I knew this would be trouble.

In the 1980s', as I was working for a stationary firm, I noticed that the typewriter, while still in use was on its way out. Computers were to supposed to cut down on paperwork. However, I noticed the reams of paper that had not been used before because computers and printers could produce copies faster than before. Also, all these turn away sticky notes and such. I knew this was going to be trouble.

As you can see, I could go on. I mentioned this to as many people as I could. Do you want to know what the response was? Not our worry.

This is a problem that has been going on for over 40 years. You are not reinventing the wheel. This is a problem that requires a solution that is realistic as you can see that no one did anything for all that time that I had mentioned.

We all need to clean up. Not just us in North America but the whole planet. Although we created the throw away society, all of us must clean up our act.

I am very environmentally conscious. Unfortunately I live in a country full of litter and junk scattered everywhere.
I notice the butterflies and birds, and have made my garden into a haven for wildlife. I never use pesticides or insecticides, even on the snails. I care for plants as well. I just wish with all my heart that everybody else did too.
I can do my bit, but everybody else must do theirs too.
Do NOT waste our worlds resources.

Yes we must respect the earth & take better care of it but did you just say that we have to wipe people off the earth?! I don't think that's the answer! We are children of the earth as well. We need to protect and respect all life. How about that?

:)
Peace out
