I'm 5'5" and about 295lbs. I'm not sure if 175 is a healthy weight for my height, but it's got to be better than what I'm at now....

There is no magic weight-loss pill, supplement, fad diet, or juice. The ONLY way to lose weight is to consume less calories than you burn. Brad Pitt didn’t get cut for Fight Club by drinking green tea, and you won’t either.

Walk for 30 minutes every day, including weekends, Mondays, and Fridays. Do at least 30 minutes of weight training each week. Do 60 minutes of additional, higher intensity cardio each week.

Cut back on the foods you eat with high fat and high sugar content. Eat only single servings (read the label) with less than 3 grams trans fat and 3 grams sugars. Get rid of anything in your diet that is non-nourishing: mayonnaise and other condiments, salt, vinegar, white flour products and canned foods.

Eat breakfast, and eat five small meals per day instead of three big meals. Don’t starve yourself during the day, but if you don't wake up famished, then you ate too much the day before. Stop eating at least two hours before you go to bed.

Get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Turn off the TV and the computer. Sleep is vitally important.

Don't consume alcohol—alcohol is nothing more than empty calories with no nutritional value. Some people will argue that alcohol has some health benefits when consumed in moderation—I’m not debating that—but we’re talking about weight loss here. Lay off the booze if you want to lose the fat.

Drink lots of water, then drink more. Not tea, not Gatorade, not milk. Water. If your urine isn’t almost clear, you need to drink more water.

Good luck.

The best way is a sensible diet and exercise, but you are considered morbidly obese and should really have a consultation with a bariatric physician to learn the best diet plan for you and your own health situation. Any weight loss is better than where you are now, so don't worry about exact numbers but focus on a healthier lifestyle.

Frankly, except for rare cases, I don't think bariatric surgery is a great idea. There are many risks and complications and a surprisingly high failure rate most eager surgeons may not tell you. If you have the discipline needed to follow that post surgical diet, why have life-endangering surgery at all? And if you must have surgery, it makes sense to use the most reversible and least invasive method available.

Even relatively small changes in your diet can help lose a pound or two a week, and a modest increase in activity speeds up the process as well.

Sugar Busters! Basically, this is something that takes you off the bad carbs but not to the extent that the Atkins or South Beach diet does. With Sugar Busters, you are still allowed certain fruits(such as strawberries, oranges, blueberries, raspberries, apples and pears) and some bread(wheat) and most veggies. You just have to stay away from chips(my weakness!!) and all that other good but bad stuff lol. Do 60 minutes of cardio daily and lift weights 3 times a week.

You can do it, even if you dont feel motivated right now, just start walking and take an MP3 Player with you. After a couple of days, you will feel renewed energy!

i do admit that you have a formidable task ahead. "the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step".

if you aim to change your diet, please don't do something that causes you to suffer. losing weight isn't about suffering. you would probably be switching from quantity to quality where food is concerned. a little less of it, for sure. more little type snacks in a day instead of the three square meals idea. but remember, your body will take about a year to recognize and adjust to any diet changes. so any action you take will change your life a bit.....yeah?

now that we've come to some understanding about food , let's look at activity. the normal order of things is that the body burns what you consume if you're active enough. if you're not active enough, then the body begins to store the excess. thus the excess bulk that builds up.......this is a given.....yeah? maybe in the beginning you'll have to concentrate on an active regimen but, like learning to tie your shoe laces, eventually you do it with little or no effort.

you need to know that your mind is the strongest implement that you will ever need, want or desire. it can and will be responsible for many wonderful things in your life. the flip side of that is that you can go as far as to make yourself sick and you really don't want to go there......yeah? i really think that you can actually have fun while you shed unwanted weight and your dream starts to come true.

my good wishes are with you.

basically, just do more exercise and eat nutriously. don't cut down on your food intake to the point where you are starving yourself. eat until you are full and stop.

Also, if you are close to work walk instead of taking transport. Stand up more often instead of sitting. Have a walk around the park during the weekends. i wouldn't jog since i don't think it is healthy for a heavy person to do so

I'm sure in case you shrink your current stomach and also get accustomed to ingesting less, it will help.
